ABOUT MY ART

I have been creating art work with an emphasis on textiles since the mid-80s.  I stopped my visual art practice in the 90s because of my demanding work schedule and instead focused my creative energies on building community engagement programs at the de Young and Legion of Honor.  After I left the museums, I traveled and landed in Portugal during the pandemic.  My recent works on paper are a result of these past two years of pandemic isolation.  The beautiful Portuguese landscape, tiles (azulejo,) ocean, beach, parks, trees, birds and other flora, fauna, and animals gifted me the extreme pleasure of their beauty and I took quite a lot of photographs and created collages with my photographs and hand drawn and hand painted imagery.
